Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

Staffing

The adults working in Year 3 to support children’s learning are:

Lilac Class: Mrs Faulkner (Class teacher), Mrs Kemp (Class teacher), Mrs Morley (Teaching assistant) and Miss Fletcher (Teaching assistant)

Indigo Class: Mrs Pemberton (Class teacher), Mrs Hewitt (Class teacher) and Mrs Burnett (Teaching assistant).

Reading and Homework:

The school expectation is that your child reads at least 3 times per week. When you listen to your child read, please enter this in their reading log and ensure that it is signed, dated and states the pages read. If they read additional books other than their school reading book, these can also be entered in their reading log.

Your child’s reading book must be in school every day so that adults in school can also listen to them read. Your child’s reading record will be checked every Friday when their total number of reads and their weekly reads will be noted. Children will receive rewards each week that they read 3 times at home and also as they move up the class reading display.

PE in Year 3:

Children in year 3 will take part in PE on Tuesdays.

Lilac Class

Indoor PE

4th, 11th and 18th November

Outdoor PE

25th November, 2nd and 9th December

Indigo Class

Indoor PE

25th November, 2nd and 9th December

Outdoor PE

4th, 11th and 18th November

On PE days, your child may come to school wearing their PE kit. PE kit is a yellow t.shirt, blue or black shorts/joggers, a blue/black jumper or jacket and suitable trainers. Your child should not wear clothing that does not meet this criteria and may be asked to use pe clothing from the spare PE kit drawer if they do. It is important that earrings are not worn to school on PE days. If they are, you will need to provide plasters to cover them.

Drinks bottles:

Please can you ensure that your child has a drinks bottle for the classroom which contains water. In class, we take regular drink breaks so children will need to ensure that they have a drink of water with them each day.
